Technically almost all of the content of my portfolio are things I've created for social media, i.e. carousels, reels, etc. But! This stuff is directly part of the platforms and culture of social media itself. That's my justification for the organization of this site.

Here are my beloved trend-based videos. I only recently got the go ahead to facilitate producing/editing trends in my current position, but believe me, I'm running with it! I believe that following trends and adapting them to your brand is vital to connecting to your audience in a more casual and fun way. Think of it like a big inside joke we all get to be in on. 

Additionally, here are some trend pitches I've created and submitted in the past, just for an insight into how I go about choosing and ideating for them!

- Trend: POV: You Wake Up As a Volunteer at Mercy Ships

Proposal: 

Video opens with POV of the “volunteer” in bed (shows feet in socks or something) shows that they’re in a cabin, maybe show what it looks like out the window; cut to POV of going through the food line or cafe (hands showing); cut to POV of doing some work; cut to POV of talking or playing a game with fellow volunteers; cut to POV of playing with patients?

 

Basically just shoot POV moments of the day that’s unique and could make people curious/excited to learn more about volunteering w Mercy Ships

  • iphone footage is fine

  • any volunteers are fine

  • has to be shot in “POV” style (refer to examples for reference)

Proposal: 

Female volunteer is tanding in a neutral background, maybe outside with it visible that they’re on a ship. They’re dressed in normal, everyday clothes, audio says “Miss, you forgot something”, volunteer puts their hand up to their mouth, looking shocked. Stop motion of pieces of their uniform appearing. At the end the audio says, “Thank you”, volunteer can do a pose or just walk away smiling.

 

Footage Needed:

  • iphone footage is fine

  • Female volunteer that has a distinguishable uniform, like a nurse or even someone on the comms team with scrub and their camera appearing at the end

  • Try and have them stand consistently in the same place with the same shocked pose as the different pieces of their uniform come on

Proposal: 

Video opens with a volunteer with over-ear headphones on and dancing to the song “anxiety”. They dance back and forth as another volunteer (or multiple) slowly comes up behind them and copies the dance. The first volunteer turns around while they’re dancing and then gets scared and looks confused as the other volunteer keeps dancing. The first volunteer then joins everyone else dancing.
